Megan Tapia
Funding Manager
An ATMS-accredited Remedial Massage Therapist since 2004, Megan has supplemented her bodywork and wellbeing practice with the CSU Bachelor Degree in Health Science (Complementary Medicine) and the UNSW AGSM Graduate Certificate (Business).
Her work supporting research and education in health Institutes at UNSW Sydney and the University of Sydney has provided deep understanding of the complexities and opportunities of community engagement in addressing the population health priorities these institutes focus on. Key responsibilities have included supporting research leaders in planning, writing and submitting grant applications and managing successful projects for and with DFAT, NHMRC, NSW Health and the World Bank.
Transferring this grant-writing experience to the social enterprise business model has provided Meg with new business learnings about the global movement, the needs of the communities served, and the increasing motivations of the grant sponsors in engaging with social enterprises.
Meg seeks out continued training and learning, collaborations and partnerships, and all forms of physical activity to spark joy and energy, with bushwalking a regular pursuit.
