Creating a positive ripple.

The data is clear, inequalities and health inequity are getting worse.

It’s unacceptable and avoidable. It’s widely accepted that physical activity is a primary means to reduce chronic disease and extend quality of life. If we want our efforts to reduce physical inactivity realised, we cannot keep adding to the system. We need to work on the system collectively.

It’s time for us to stop focusing on the parts of the system most visible to us. Helping each other to see our part in our system and the larger eco-system, which we also influence.

That’s why, as well as co-creating programs for underserved communities, we’re leading a systems-wide initiative.

Enabling active lives in Western Sydney

WSYD Moving unites physical activity enthusiasts, practitioners and researchers to reduce physical inactivity. The cross-sector collaboration includes experts from Local Government, Local Health Districts, Primary Health Networks, Universities and Industry Bodies.

Since its June 2022 launch, we've brought 151 individuals across 56 organisations together in our virtual ‘Community of Practise’ (CoP), which meets bi-monthly to exchange best practices, insights, strategies and collaboration. Together, we're tackling inactivity and inequalities Western Sydney with the aim to improve population health.

If you are interested in becoming a member or joining one of our CoP sessions, please contact us.
