Collective Leisure named as Finalist in Australian Sport, Recreation and Play Innovation Awards for the Liverpool Seniors Well-being and Social Group

Collective Leisure has been named one of three finalists for the Australian Sport, Recreation and Play Innovation Awards in the Programs and Activities of the year to be held at the National Sports and Physical Activity Convention in on the 27th June 2024.

The Liverpool Seniors Well-being and Social Group has been recognised for it’s positive impact on the community and innovative approach to reduce social isolation through a thrice weekly program that provides free physical activity and well-being programs for seniors in the Liverpool LGA with an in-built social catch-up after every class.

Collective Leisure delivers the program on behalf of Liverpool City Council and in partnership with South Western Sydney Local Health District. Other partners have included Healthstin, COTA NSW, Wonderwood Cafe, Liverpool Academy of Music, Bhajiya Restaurant and Chi Chinese Healing College.

The National Sports & Physical Activity Convention | IAKS 2024 hosts the Australian Sport, Recreation and Play Innovation Awards whose purpose is to “recognise individuals, government, not-for-profits, the commercial sector, play sector, recreation and sports of their innovations to get more people active in the community.”

The finalists in the Programs and Activities category are:

  • Valley Outdoors – The F.O.C.K: Festival of Canoe and Kayak

  • PLAYBK Sports – SUNS Active Lab

  • Collective Leisure – Liverpool Seniors Well-being and Social Group

Award winners will be announced at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on Thursday June 27.
