Bankstown Senior College for Refugees
Collective Leisure delivered an effective, interactive and informative Well-being Program to our Year 10 students in December 2019.
Their series of sessions on the Wheel of Well-being were most engaging, elevating and entertaining. The presenters, David and Jen have a young and energetic spirit and they did their utmost to present a tailored program to meet the language needs of our CALD students with presentable, informative and user-friendly booklets and presentations that ensured a good balance of teacher and student centred activities. Teachers of the College were impressed with the receptive nature of the students who thoroughly enjoyed all sessions ranging from competitive sports activities in the hall to meditation in the library to multimedia learning cleverly chosen by the presenters and suitably geared for the targeted audience of mature, young adults of diverse cultural backgrounds. David and Jen's professional approach, strong cultural awareness, high calibre and excellent expertise in health and fitness welcomed them back into Bankstown Senior College to deliver a Smoking Awareness program to all cohorts of the College for 2020. We are most grateful for the great collaboration from CL staff who are so intuitive and committed to ensure specific educational needs are fulfilled regarding any aspects of well-being. Students look forward to many more sessions directed and delivered by them.

David was instrumental to the success of a number of programs we ran out of Auburn Ruth Everuss Aquatic Centre. Without his support I’m not sure these programs would have delivered the results we were seeking. Many adults local to that area from CALD backgrounds may not be water safe and able to swim today! His desire to collaborate on health and social issues and his openness to explore unique and diverse strategies, was a strength for his facility.
It is clear David has a passion for wellness and a strong social conscious. This coupled with his commercial acumen will make him an asset to any organisation. His ability to embrace community based social projects sets him apart from many in his industry.
