Bankstown Senior College - Well-being Program
Well-being Program
We’ve had the privilege of working with Bankstown Senior College since 2019. The College provides secondary education to students of post compulsory age, new arrivals, refugees, re–entry students and those who have found it difficult to engage with education in a traditional setting.
We were asked back in to deliver an extended version of the program we created for the Year 10 students back in 2019. Since then a few things have changed. The students now face additional challenges due to Covid and an ever changing world; they have appointed the wonderful Lisa Fajou as Head Teacher of Well-being and of course, our content and facilitation methods have evolved
Jennifer along with Lisa Fajou, Maria Pascalis, Hedy Brunet and Qudsia Rahimi co-designed this latest program for this particular Year 10 cohort (age between 18-23).
The program was delivered over three sessions, one session per week, each session over four hours with breaks. As the year was larger this time round, they were split into two groups. David and Jennifer our founders, along with Katrina Mills (a nutritionist and financial well-being expert) and Dean Ross (a trainee nurse and ex Bankstown Senior College student) facilitated the delivery of the program.
The program was designed around our Collective Leisure wheel of well-being and included meditation practice, movement, games, confidence building activities, student sharing and deepening their connection to one another.
Well-being of students is one of the top three concerns for any educational institution right now, along with social isolation and learning outcomes.
Program Objectives
Enable students to flourish and fulfil their potential.
Develop an understanding of well-being and capacity to apply self-care.
Support the building of a well-being culture within the school.
Creating an inclusive, healthy community.

“Collective Leisure is making great connections with the CALD cohorts of BSC. The CL Wheel of Wellbeing invites students to travel on a learning, interactive journey to build, empower and enrich the wellbeing of young, promising lives. With this, BSC students grow/develop healthy, driven minds to access success in their work and career pathways.”
